The Aaronia NF3020 Spectran EMI Spectrum Analyzer 10 Hz-400 KHz measures the frequency range of 10 Hz to 400 kHz. Detect sources of interference, find out more about their causes, determine the frequency and intensity of the signal sources, measure limits and more. The NF 3020 is equipped with a REAL 3D (isotropic) magnetic sensor and include a field plate sensor to measure electric fields. Both sensors cover the full frequency range of the unit and allows measurement of magnetic fields in all 3 spatial dimensions.

As development progresses, EMI measurements become more and more important, for example on modules and their interfaces: As any electrical system or device has to operate in its electromagnetic environment without being disturbed by another device or itself, it should be tested for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). EMC is subdivided into measurement of electromagnetic susceptibility (EMS) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Professional EMF measurement devices use a frequency dependant measurement approach, the so-called spectrum analysis. In a certain frequency range, the individuals signals and their respective strengths are being broken down, for example into a "bargraph" display.

The NF 3020 offers a USB interface with real-time remote control to a PC or MAC. The measurement results and controls work in realtime, which means without any delay between the reception and the display of the signal on a monitor. The free analyzer software, which is available for MAC OS, Linux and Windows, transforms any NF 3020 into a powerful measurement solution with great features (e.g. recording, multiple window display, histogram, waterfall diagram, unlimited number of markers, and enhanced limits display). This spectrum analyzer also offers a powerful limits display. Push the limits button on the NF 3020 and the high-performance Digital Signal Processor (DSP) of the device constantly calculates the limits and displays the results in real-time.

The internal data logger allows long-term recordings of measurement results over a freely adjustable period of time. This is particularly indispensable for serious evaluation of exposure by appliances and machinery which have a changing power consumption or radiation strength over time. Examples for these include railroads, power lines and plants, but also home appliances and their respective power cables, and various high-frequency transmission facilities like mobile phone transmission towers, mobile phones, radar etc. Depending on the time of day, considerable variation of exposure can occur. Without long-term recordings, misinterpretation of total exposure can occur. With long-term data logging using the NF 3020, the daily variation of exposure can be recorded and analysed. Discover sporadic EMC problems which would otherwise be very hard to detect with this feature.
